Soooo... I give up!!
I was going to wait until the winners were announced in the November iRO Backstage. But 10:30 on Nov. 30TH and it's still not up. So I'm posting it anyway!

I was so fucking proud of this one. Really. I put a lot of work into her. I spent a couple days plotting and planning out poses. Tried out some different things with the coloring and such.

I really slacked on the bg... but in the end it wasn't too bad. Probably looks better this way than if I tried to make one myself.
But anyway... happy!

This is my entry to the iRO monster fan art contest. The Ragnarok Monster, Chimera. The contest's rules were to take a non-humanoid monster and draw it as if it was human. I decided away from the typical monsters like Wild Rose (a cat) or Lunatic (bunny). I'm happy with the choice.
Chimera of course was a mash of monsters. In game it appears as a lion with the hind legs of a goat, big bandage wrapped paws and snakes for tails. I figured that a fighter type would look better because of the bandaged legs.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the other entries for the contest.

But I'm very happy to have finished this one. Even tho it was finished waaaaaaaay back on like... Oct 10th X3

I've been told before that my inking can be very clean... but I do scan at a high resolution too. I think I used 400 for this one.

I don't mind the questions, I just wish I could be of more help to you.

You've been a GREAT help. No reason to be down. ^^ First you took time out of your day to answer my little questions so that alone is wonderful. If ya want you can look aound in my gal to see what i was talking about. I got he blur down.. but I think I just need to be leaner with my lineart. ^^ And 400 you say.. I'll ry that. I'll keep ya posted.

Awww, thankies =3

After thinking about it some more... I may have been a bit too simple with my description on how I work the layers. As a warning... 400 is HUGE.
Hopefully a bit of a better description, yet still probably vague...
I usually just bump the size down to 20% before I save. Another thing to do is just play around with a couple different layers of things. Sometimes I'll blur two layers over the main and set it to multiply. Then you can play around with the opacity. And the settings can be different for every one. I just play around til it looks good.

Hmm that makes sense. yeah 400 is abit huge. I scanned a pic on 600 before.... that was a mistake. But I'll try that. I was only bluring one layer.. which was the lineart. I never thought about bluring 2 of them. Thanks.. see you are a GREAT help. ^^
